Drawing skills are painting skills. Whether your style and approach is impressionistic, realistic, comic, naive, expressive – or anything else – you will grow by honing your drawing skills.This course takes artists through the following essential skills and concepts; proportion and placement, perspective, construction, value and light effect, concentrating values, turning form, edges and texture, and composition. Each class begins with a slide talk that illustrates the concept through different artistic movements and media, then Sarah will provide a short demo of the exercise designed to practice the skill. Students will then spend a time drawing (or painting) with 1-1 feedback from Sarah. Each lesson builds on the previous lesson. Students will be given free access to recorded version of Sarah’s slide talks.
