The Drawing Salon is a free drawing workshop offered each month at the Stanley Museum of Art that welcomes all experience levels and is the perfect activity to enjoy with friends and family on the weekend. Each session will focus on a different artworks from the museum's collection, beginning with an introduction and discussion of the selected work. Participants will be encouraged to pursue their own visions and to take inspiration from the artworks in the gallery.
Pencils and sketchbooks/paper are the only artmaking materials allowed in the galleries. The museum has golf pencils with erasers and clipboards for participants to use. Stools and benches are available in the galleries.
Robert Caputo, an Iowa City-based painter and sculptor, will lead the sessions.

Children under 18 may attend, as long as they can work independently. Parents/guardians are responsible for their minors in attendance.
