About this Event
Drawing for Beginners with Theresa Currie will focus on capturing a variety of subjects with graphite pencils on paper through contour drawing. Theresa will guide students new to drawing into the basics of mark making and the expressive potential of line.
After a brief icebreaker, Theresa will discuss and demonstrate drawing postures, hand positions, and pencil sharpening. The group will then dive in to the drawing exercises focused on exploring the contour line. Paper grades, drawing definitions and vocabulary will be discussed.
All materials are included in the ticket price and are the students to take home after the class concludes.
All students will recieve 10% off art supplies on the day of the class!
About Theresa: Theresa Currie (BFA 1999, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago) is an interdisciplinary artist. She is fascinated by traditional mark making techniques, performance and collaborative projects. Her subjects include fellow artists, costumed musicians, dancers, and nature. She is a member of noise music trio FOOT SOS. Today she resides in San Francisco with her partner.
