Drawing and Mindfulness Workshop

When you draw you are in a state of mindfulness. There is just you and the object you are drawing. Cave painting is so moving today because our ancestors were so wholly absorbed in their drawing and the significance of being present. When we begin to draw, we begin to see more, and by seeing more we connect to the essential reality of the moment we’re in.
These workshops will concentrate on the process of drawing, through both materials and techniques. We will draw with colour, composing our own still life. We will revisit the works of ancient cultures from Egypt to Greece, and arrive to the works of old masters such as Rembrandt, Titian, Cezanne, or Matisse.
I am an Artist and Guide dedicated to the way of painting and its raw materials. I also run educational workshops in galleries or museums such as Tate Modern and the British Museum.
Essential materials are provided for you to draw freely: paper, pencils, charcoal, watercolours, but feel free to bring your own sketchpads and/or favourite mediums.
