Drawing and Creative Flow: Drawing on the right side of the brain
This is two-hour class designed for beginning artists, those who think "I can't draw" or "I have no artistic talent”. The teaching is rooted in the work of Betty Edwards, who wrote the famed book "Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain."
The point of Edwards' teaching - and this class - is to get your noisy, verbal, bossy left brain to let go. The class is designed to get you "into the zone" where your right brain functions. That zone is where dancers, musicians, and artists go to create. Getting into your right brain is like a mini-vacation, and you’ll be surprised at how well good work turns out!
SUPPLIES NEEDED
All that's needed are supplies you probably have around the house:
• White paper, could be drawing paper or white typing/copy paper
will do
• A soft pencil with a good point (it would be nice to have an HB, a
2B, a 4B and a 6B, but a #2 pencil will do in a pinch)
• A pencil sharpener
• A clean eraser (test it and make sure it doesn't leave marks on the paper; if it does, wash it with some hand soap)
• A ruler or other straight edge
