On Saturday, Sept. 20, communities from coast to coast will unite for Indigenous rights, migrant rights, economic justice, climate justice and peace. This nation-wide mobilization coincides with the opening of Parliament.Together, we will Draw the Line: for People, for Peace, for the Planet. In Kingston, you can show your support by joining our People-Powered Parade.
We will gather in Victoria Park at 1:30, then parade to McBurney Park. We welcome all forms of fossil fuel free transportation. Feet. Bikes. Skateboards. Mobility devices. Stilts.
There will be dancing, bells, art, and costumes, but please come as you are, whether this moment has you feeling anxiety, anger, despair, hope, determination or anything else. This event is about solidarity and everyone is welcome.
You can learn more about Draw the Line at drawtheline.world.
The demands of this day of action are:
- Put people over corporate profit. Fund our families and communities.
- Refuse ongoing colonialism. Uphold Indigenous Sovereignty.
- Stop blaming migrants. Demand full immigration status for all now!
- End the war machine. Stand for justice and peace.
- End the era of fossil fuels. Protect Mother Earth.
