The first DRAW! of 2026 will be hosted by friend and Vliet Street neighbor, Wes Tank!
Wes Tank is a Milwaukee-based filmmaker, performance artist, rapper, DJ, actor, and creative instigator who brings people together through sound, vision, story, and participation. Whether he’s behind the camera or in front, Wes specializes in creating playful, inclusive environments that inspire artists and audiences to create in real time.
He is the founder and director of TankThink, a production company known for uplifting documentaries, music videos, and collaborative storytelling projects that strengthen local and cultural ecosystems. His work lives at the intersection of hip-hop, visual art, education, and community engagement—often blurring the line between performance and participation.
Wes also starred in the internationally acclaimed cult sensation Hundreds of Beavers, which has screened at festivals and theaters around the world and earned a passionate global following for its bold, physical, and inventive storytelling.
In 2020, Wes’s YouTube series Dr. Seuss Raps Over Dr. Dre Beats became a viral phenomenon, building a worldwide audience of children, families, and educators at a moment when creative connection was more essential than ever. He continues to rap books and original material for both children and adults, expanding classic and contemporary literature through hip-hop, humor, and live performance. This work led to original StoryRaps for Kidoodle TV, an artist residency at the Betty Brinn Children’s Museum, and an ongoing body of work centered on joy, curiosity, and shared experience.
In 2023, Wes co-founded the Washington Park Media Center, a neighborhood-based media hub across from Milwaukee’s historic Washington Park, focused on production, strategy, and hands-on creative training.
An official YouTube Creator on the Rise, Wes’s work has been featured by Variety, Oprah Magazine, CBS Sunday Morning, CNN.com, and Upworthy. Today, he continues to build live experiences that invite people not just to watch—but to make, move, and imagine together.
