IFPA rankings is opening again, we need to tighten those screws, polish those playfields and win back those WPPRs!From 1st August the ranking system is open again and Id like to kick off the post-covid pinball tournaments with a 2-day, 3 tournaments-weekend in cooperation with THE club that provides you with your pinball fix, Kristiania Flipperselskap.
Details about formats, registration etc will come, but it will be a max player limit depending on the covid-situation, possible restrictions etc. We aim at 16 or 20 players, and we will set a date for when registration opens soon.

Formats/Schedule:
Friday 27: A New WPPR Hope
Qualification: 19 - 22 (No more games started after 21.30):
- 2.5 hours of 4 player group matchplay, one game per round, swiss pairing, 3-2-1-0
- Game selection balanced. Top 8 advances. Tie Breakers will be played on prechosen tie break machines for 8th position and 1st position. Tie-breaks in between will be resolved by random number generator to determine position.
Semifinals: 22-23
Two groups of 4 player groups play three games, one for each era. Points 4-2-1-0.
Machines randomly chosen. Higher seed select position for first game. Top 4 players advances to finals, ties for 4th will be played on prechosen tie-break machine.
Finals: 23-00
Top 4 players play 4 games. 2 modern and 2 SS are chosen at random. Players choose starting order based on position from semifinals. Points 4-2-1-0

Saturday 28: The WPPRs Strike Back
Qualification: 12.00 - 15.00
3 hours of head to head matchplay, balanced pairing and balanced machine selection.
Estimated games towards TGP: 12
Semifinals: 15.00 - 16.00
Top 8 players advance and play head 2 head, slaughter pairing, best of three games on the same game. The highest seed chooses machine, lower seed choose position. Tie-breaks will be played for 8th position (from qualifying), else internal tie breaks will be resolved by random number generator.
Finals: 16.00 - 17.30
Top 4 players play a 5 player group match, on four machines. 2 Modern, 2 SS and one EM is selected at random. Highest seed choose starting position in descending order.

Tournament 3: Return of the WPPRs
Qualification: 19 - 22
Groups of four (or three) will play on one machine per round, getting points 4-2-1-0. The target score for advancing is 22 points. When a player reaches 22 points, that player has secured a place in the playoffs and will not be playing the rest of the qualification rounds. When top 8 spots are taken, qualification is over and semifinals will start.
Pairing and machine selection will be balanced.
