Join us in the studio for an afternoon of making as many drain bags as possible to support our local hospital, the amazing staff & future patients!We’ll have the studio set up to maximise productivity so we can strive to make as many bags in 3 hours as possible! All skill levels are welcome; choose to cut fabric, sew, overlock, turn out straps, iron etc all help will be gratefully received!
We’ll provide brews & biscuits to help keep you fuelled and have lots of 100% cotton fabrics to make the bags from but if you’ve got remnants from as small as 30cm by 32cm and 120cm by 8cm for straps then they would be greatly received too!
Make a big difference to the receivers of the bags but is also a great opportunity to learn sewing skills too!
And here’s our inspiration & driving force behind this afternoon, our wonderful tutor Jo, read her story here;
“For the last 2 weeks this drain bag has been my constant companion.
I had a partial mastectomy at Preston Hospital where I met the most incredible staff. They did everything possible to maintain my dignity, keep me comfortable and as independent as possible. I am so incredibly grateful to this amazing group of humans.
The staff frequently fundraise to buy equipment to make life better for the patients and have asked family and friends to sew drain bags. However, these are single use items so stocks need replenishing frequently”
Together we can make something really positive happen.
