–––––Kem
Kem is a Warsaw-based, queer-feminist initiative focused on choreography, performance, and sound at the interface of social practice. Distinguished by hybridity and fluidity, their projects blur the boundaries of art, curation, and education to strengthen queer and feminist practices and discourses. Dragana Bar is Kem’s club night, which hosts expressions of queer sound and performance. It is a platform for emerging phenomena in dance music, sound-based art, and smaller scale performances.
Queer club culture is rooted in community-building. Some of today’s artists, DJs, producers, and promoters engaged in activism work toward turning the club scene into a safe space, fighting sexism, racism, trans- and homophobia at parties and within club culture itself. They also strive to use club culture as a tool for political mobilization and resistance. During this nocturnal gathering in June in Maastricht, Grzegorzek asks, What is a dance for freedom and why do we need it now more than ever?

–––––Letter of Conduct
Dear Guest,
It is important for us that you have fun safely. Dragana Bar is a queer party, materialised by and for the queer community. We will not tolerate any form of oppression, intimidation, discrimination, or abuse at our event. Therefore, we ask you:
No sexism
No homophobia
No transphobia
No racism
Do not touch, kiss, or approach anyone without their consent.
We encourage you to draw on a variety of tools to express yourself on the dancefloor, including gestures, clothes, and makeup, as long as they remain respectful and harmless to others.
Individuals from the Jan van Eyck and Dragana Bar will be present throughout the duration of the event, dedicated to ensuring that the house rules are upheld and that everyone has a safe night. Don’t hesitate to contact the people working at the bar, at the doors, or the security guards, if you feel unwell or have experienced any abuse.
yours,
Kem
