Course Description:A four-week sewing intensive focused on stretch fabrics, sergers, and fit. Participants will learn how to measure, cut, and sew a fitted bodysuit using stretch materials and professional finishing techniques. The course covers pattern preparation, working with knits, and serger operation for clean, durable seams.
Students can make multiple bodysuits if time allows and will have open studio access throughout the duration of the program to continue sewing and refining their work. Bring padding or shaping inserts if desired for custom fit.
Course Goals / Learning Objectives:
- Learn to read and adjust a stretch-fabric pattern.
- Take accurate body measurements for fitted garments.
- Safely operate and thread sergers and sewing machines.
- Understand stretch stitch settings and seam construction for knits.
- Practice finishing techniques: elastic, binding, and hemming.
- Complete one or more custom-fitted bodysuits.
