From his early days growing up and studying in Manchester, Dr Redmond's long and illustrious career as an A&E doctor has seen him on the frontline of countless international emergencies such as the Lockerbie bombing, the Ebola crisis, in Sarajevo, the Yerevan earthquake in Armenia and more recently as the Medical Director of Manchester's Nightingale Hospital.Currently the Emeritus Professor of International Emergency Medicine at the University of Manchester, Dr Redmond is the founder of NGO UK-Med and has also worked with the UN, DFID and the WHO, to deliver emergency care to those in need around the world.
In addition, he has also personally managed to survive heavy metal poisoning, an attack of malaria and becoming temporarily paralysed.
