About this Event
A livelier life drawing event, Dr. Sketchy’s is where artists of all levels draw fabulous burlesque and variety performers. Enjoy delicious cocktails and compete in zany drawing contests to win free drinks and other awesome prizes! We’ll start off with quick 1- and 2-minute gesture poses and gradually move up to 20-minute sketches. No drawing experience is necessary; just bring your own drawing materials—plus generous cash tips for our model—and join us for some fun figure sketching practice!
The gothically gorgeous Morticia Atoms will be posing and performing for our artists at this month's session! Here's more about our October muse:
"One evening under the light of a killing moon, a devious experiment went terribly, terribly right and the night creature about to appear before you slithered off the slab and into her local Hot Topic. Off-stage, this thicc thighed nightmare is a writer, rope artist, and cosplayer. On-stage she delights in combining her love of horror and animation to haunt audiences' imaginations. And tonight she invites you to get caught in her web. Please welcome to the stage the creepy, kooky, and altogether ooky – Morticia Atoms!"
Come early to get the best seats and a drink—and even a delicious dinner—then stay after we wrap up to share your work with fellow artists over one last drink at the bar.
Doors at 6:00 pm, drawing from 7-10 pm. 18+ to draw, 21+ to drink. $15 in advance, $20 at the door, plus service fees for online and in-person credit card transactions. BYO drawing supplies. No photography, messy paints, or dip pens, please (watercolors are fine).
