Dr. Mike Daley Presents: The Gordon Lightfoot Story is an entertaining lecture-concert celebrating his life and music, featuring Mike on guitar and vocals, Nichol Robertson on lead guitar, Jill Daley on piano and violin and Greg Wyard on bass and vocals.
You'll learn about the fascinating life of Gordon Lightfoot, from his Orillia upbringing to his early years on the Toronto folk scene, his rise to stardom, and his long string of hit records. The latest in a successful monthly series that has included sold-out lecture-concerts on Simon and Garfunkel, Billy Joel, Tina Turner and the Beach Boys, The Gordon Lightfoot Story is a must-see for any music fan.
Dr. Mike Daley is a musician and music historian known across the GTA for his highly entertaining and informative talks on popular music. Nichol Robertson is an in-demand session and live guitarist with three solo albums to his credit. Jill Daley is a full-time musician at Canada's National Ballet School and, like Mike, is part of the music staff at Redeemer. Greg Wyard is an accomplished bassist and songwriter with a strong live following and three albums of his own.
Church of the Redeemer is a spacious and comfortable (cushioned chairs, not pews)1879 church with excellent sightlines and acoustics. It is conveniently located in Yorkville, close to Bay and Museum subway stations, ample parking and fine restaurants.
General admission tickets are $35.00 plus HST and processing fee. These events usually sell out, but if tickets are available at the door, they will be $50.00, cash only.
