About this Event
With over 300 million records sold worldwide, Elton John is one of the most successful and beloved musical artists of all time. Classics like "Your Song," "Rocket Man," "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" and "Bennie and the Jets" were the soundtrack of the 1970s and 80s and are still somehow current today. Dr. Mike Daley Presents: The Elton John Story is a lecture-concert celebrating his life and music, featuring Mike on guitar and vocals, Will Reid on lead vocals, Jill Daley on piano and violin and Greg Wyard on bass and vocals.
You'll learn about Elton's fascinating life story, from his London upbringing to his early years on the British blues scene, his rise to stardom, and his long string of hit records. The latest in a successful monthly series that has included lecture-concerts on Simon and Garfunkel, Carole King, the Beatles and Gordon Lightfoot, Dr. Mike Daley Presents: The Elton John Story is a must-see for any music fan.
Dr. Mike Daley is a musician and music historian known across the GTA for his highly entertaining and informative talks on popular music. Will Reid is an accomplished singer, conductor and educator. Jill Daley is a full-time musician at Canada's National Ballet School and, like Mike, is part of the music staff at Redeemer.
