Following more than 30 years in forensic medicine and 15 years as Ireland’s State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy has always been a storyteller, piecing together stories of the thousands of postmortems she has performed and hundreds of murders she has investigated. During her career she witnessed the burgeoning role of forensic science in solving crimes and achieving justice. She retired in 2018 to spend more time on the other passions in her life, her family and writing.
