On 1 September 2000, Jason Kissel began his ministry among us as our Minister of Music & Arts/Organist. For 25 years, he has led us in our worship & praise of God, worked with many musicians to create one of the finest choirs in the city of Baltimore, and has been a faithful minister to countless members and friends of our congregation. A special celebration of Jason’s 25th anniversary at First & Franklin is being held on Sunday 14 September. The day will begin with a festive worship service with special music by the choir, a commissioned piece for flute & organ by Maureen Howell, first prize winner of the American Guild of Organists' 2025 Woman Composer Sunday Organ Composition Competition, dedicated to Jason, and other surprises. Dr. Eileen Guenther, a friend to both Jason and First & Franklin, is helping to lead the service as a guest organist and conductor.
Following worship, a special reception will be held in Reid Chapel. Please plan to attend and invite others to join you.
