A full day of family fun, shopping, entertainment, and tradition awaits
SOUTH LYON, MI – Downtown South Lyon invites the community and visitors from across the region to kick off the season at the 2025 Downtown South Lyon Holiday Spectacular on Saturday, December 6, 2025. This beloved annual celebration will fill the city with festive cheer from morning through late evening, featuring family-friendly activities, local shopping, music, Santa Claus, live entertainment, and the highly anticipated Lighted Parade.
This event truly showcases the heart of South Lyon. From long-standing community traditions to exciting new additions, the Holiday Spectacular brings families together to celebrate the season in our vibrant downtown.

Morning Festivities
- 10:00 AM – Candy Cane Hunt at McHattie Park (South Lyon Recreation)
- 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM – 37th Annual South Lyon Football Holiday Shop featuring 210 crafters and vendors at South Lyon High School, 1000 N. Lafayette
- 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM – Downtown Shops Open for holiday shopping
Midday Magic
- 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM – Cookies with Santa at The South Lyon Hotel
- (bring a non-perishable food donation)
- 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM – Cool Yule free crafts, games, and baked goods at South Lyon United Methodist Church
Afternoon & Evening Highlights
- 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM Live Ice Carving Demonstration at LFG Local, 399 S. Lafayette St.
- 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM – Historical Village open for tours, bake sale & cocoa at the Freight House (South Lyon Historical Society)
- 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM – Visit with Santa and beloved cartoon characters in the Historic Barn at Heinanen Engineering (Carl & Joanne Foundation)
- 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM – Kids crafts, cookie & ornament decorating at Heinanen Engineering
- 4:00 PM – 10:00 PM – Fire pits for warming up at Heinanen Engineering
- 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM – Outdoor concessions: cocoa, cider, donuts, and s’more kits at Heinanen Engineering
- 4:00 PM – 9:30 PM – Indoor concessions: cocoa, pizza, hot dogs, nachos, chips, donuts, and more in the Historic Barn at Heinanen Engineering
- 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM – Holiday Spectacular in Downtown South Lyon:
- Horse-drawn carriage rides
- Live petting farm at Lafayette Park
- Cartoon characters, circus performers, and Dickens-style carolers
- Sidecar Social District
- Holiday magic, shopping and downtown festivities
- 4:00 PM – 9:00 PM – Texts to Santa at the AT&T booth (Farmers Market lot, Liberty & Lafayette)
Parade, Tree Lightings & Evening Celebration
- 6:00 PM – Holiday Spectacular Lighted Parade
- (lineup begins at 5:00 PM at Bartlett Elementary)
- 6:30 PM – Santa arrives at Witch’s Depot
- Santa receives the Key to the City from Mayor Stephen Kennedy
- Float winner trophies awarded
- Santa lights the Village Tree
- Community sing-along
- 6:45 PM – Santa & Mrs. Claus greet children at Washburn School
- 7:30 PM – Downtown Tree Lighting at Heinanen Engineering porch
- 7:45 PM – 11:00 PM – Family-friendly party continues in the Historic Barn with DJ Tony G, beer, wine, and signature cocktails (Carl & Joanne Foundation)
