Spring has sprung and let's put our best foot forward for our community members and visitors. Join us for a Community Clean up along Commercial Street, North Sydney on April 12.Did you know the Trans Canada Trail (TCT) begins in Nova Scotia at the Marine Atlantic Terminal in North Sydney and continues along Commercial Street to the Ballast Grounds? From there begins the Bras d'Or Lake Water Route. The TCT is the longest trail in Canada at nearly 27,000 kilometres! Four out of five Canadians live within 30 minutes of the Trail.
We recognize it as an important asset to our downtown and it was part of the reason why the North Sydney Business Improvement and Development Association worked with the TCT several years ago to create a boat launch area near the Ballast Grounds entrance.
Working with the Trans Canada Trail Association, we have been able to plant some flowers and keep our downtown spruced up and looking clean over the past few years.
Everyone is welcome. Gloves and bags will be provided and we will meet in front of the Library at 12 noon and collection will begin right after.
