The 2024 Holiday Celebration & Grand Illumination is always the official start of the holiday season in Elizabeth City! Few things build connections like an old-fashioned holiday celebration. 🎄 Here the community comes together for the official "lighting of the holiday lights" on Main Street followed by caroling, hot cocoa, whispering your gift wishes into Santa’s ear, and many other activities. Elizabeth City Downtown Inc. partners with downtown businesses to create a festive evening of fun to start the holiday season off in a merry way. This event will be held Friday, November 29, 6-8 pm, beginning with the lighting ceremony at Mariners Wharf Park (202 S. Water Street) and will continue down Main Street.
Entertainment, Christmas carols, and more amazing kid- and family-oriented activities and experiences. Details will be announced prior to the event.
Come back to the Downtown area the next day for Small Business Saturday -- lots of sales, shopping opportunities, and free swag.
