Local historian and author Chris Flook will bring Muncie’s past to life with a special Delaware County Historical Society event. He will showcase an 1890 ledger from the original pharmacy, which now stands as the Downtown Farm Stand. Built in 1875, it remains the oldest commercial building in downtown Muncie. The ledger contains everything from whiskey, wallpaper, curtains, medicine, and accounts from the city’s most prominent business people.BSU Architecture students with iMade Studios are working with the Downtown Farm Stand, exploring how 3D printing, CNC machining (Computer Numerical Control for drilling), and casting different materials can transform traditional building elements with more contemporary methods like integrating greenery directly into facade panels with planter pockets as a reference to the Farm Stand’s natural and organic goods. Through the integration of digital fabrication with biophilic design, our project aims to enhance its aesthetic and its function as a 3rd place for people to build community.
Smash burgers, craft cocktails, and DORA cups with your favorite alcoholic beverage will be available to walk around with in the Dora District.
