Join us downtown during August's first Friday Summer Stroll featuring ArtWalk event. Chalk on the Walk is your opportunity to make some temporary public art!
You are invited to draw chalk masterpieces in designated locations on sidewalks around the Downtown Core. This Downtown Community sidewalk art initiative was created to spread positivity & invoke creativity.
EVENT DETAILS:
- Date and Time: Friday, Aug. 2nd, 3pm to 8pm
To get started, check-in at the DBA office (102 N. 29th Street) and our staff will point you toward the prepared 3ftx3ft sidewalk square locations or invite you to create your own. You are welcome to bring your own chalks or purchase a cup of professional chalk pastels ($5.00 per cup) while supplies last. Your $5.00 Chalk Pastel purchase is tax-deductible, non-profit donation.
Create your temporary masterpiece downtown to be enjoyed by downtown visitors & the night’s ArtWalk attendees.
ADDITIONAL INFO:
Adults & children are invited to participate (every child needs to be accompanied by an Adult 18 years of age or older at all times).
In the event of forecasted rain, the day’s event may be rescheduled.
This is an all ages and all skill level art event!
CREATE ON YOUR TIME:
The official time of this year's event is 3pm to 8pm but individuals who have their own chalk are welcome to create their art on sidewalk's of downtown any time on August 2nd. You may also purchase your $5.00 cup of chalk pastels ahead of time on Thursday, August 1st during the DBA's 9am to 4pm office hours. There is not a set time your masterpiece needs to be completed by so enjoy your time downtown or come back and work on your square on Saturday, August 3rd, if that suits your schedule better.
