The City of El Paso will be celebrating National Bike Month with a FREE Bike Safety event at San Jacinto Plaza. This family-friendly downtown event is open to all children, caregivers and community members. Featured events:• 9 am: The Bike Safety event kicks off with a bike safety class for children, which will be based off the popular “Safety Town” hosted annually by the El Paso Police Department. Children of all ages will learn about laws and safety tips to follow when riding bicycles.
• 9:30 am: Adults are invited to join in on the fun with a Downtown Mural Bike Ride hosted by Downtown El Paso and Visit El Paso. This free bike ride will be a guided tour of downtown that will stop periodically to inform the participants of the culture and history of some of the most popular downtown El Paso murals. The public is encouraged to bring their own bikes. Visit El Paso will have 20 bikes available for the tour at no cost and loaned on a first-come, first-served basis.
• 10 am: Free Yoga class hosted by Live Active at San Jacinto Plaza.
In addition, Podium Finish, El Paso’s bicycle repair shop and coffee bar, will be providing bike repair stations, a gear giveaway, and much more.
