Down in the Ro: Open Mic Series x The Newark Times Brunch

‘Down In The Ro’ Open Mic Experience is more than just a platform for emerging artists; but a celebration of the diversity in our community. Performers of all genres, from spoken word poets and musicians to storytellers, have been invited to share their craft in an atmosphere brimming with creativity and good old fashion energy with a new school twist.

Pre-brunch &!day party sounds by the highly anticipated, ‘MERK La Familia’, New York City-based electronic dance music duo formed by Zimbabwean brothers Tee and Bic Will. We’ll also be serenaded by one of the most amazing live bands and musicians,’VTX Studios. Be ready as they will take turns capturing your soul.

Witness amazing musicians, poets, producers and more, such as Drift, Winn, James Gibbs III, Mecca Singz, Odson Pierre-Louis, Lil Maceo, Sophia’s Daughter, Chanceé Tianna, KaKuyon Shakur and a phenomenal list of Open Mic Talent.

Come dressed to impress as the day will be fully packed with tasteful vibrancy from food to music as well as vibes. Attendees can expect an eclectic mix of performances, each bringing their unique flair to the stage. The open mic ensures a variety of surprises and undiscovered gems, making it a must-attend.
