About this Event
The Putting Down Routes team and project partner Wild With Wheels are delighted to invite you to join us in Dover to for a seaside and river stroll around the town.
The walk will begin at the Riverside Community Centre in Dover, where hot drinks are available. You will then take a tour through the town and Pencester Gardens, seeing the crystal clear rare chalk stream of the River Stour. You will then head to the seafront to see the start and end of the North Downs Way National Trail and pilgrimage route of the Via Francigena which connects Canterbury to Rome.
Our North Downs Way ambassador leader will share the history of Dover and the Kent Downs National Landscape. We also see the new interactive art installation titled 'We are all Winners' by Alma Tischlerwood. If we have time, we will also have a chance to see the new marina.
