Planned arrival time back into London of 9:00pm. We have a group train ticket, so all attendees will go and return together to the same station. If you want to return separately, please buy your individual train ticket.

This walk is covered by our Club's insurance. Our Club is registered on The British Mountaineering Council (BMC)

HOW TO FIND US

Should you need to meet Maria, she will be stationed at the meeting point detailed under the "Transport and Meeting Point" section. If locating her proves challenging, please feel free to contact her at 07535295739.

Indulge yourself in the mesmerising beauty of the coastal path, offering spectacular views of the sea throughout. Discover the hidden gems of Folkestone, a charming town undergoing a renaissance, like many southern coastal towns.

Embark on a journey, climbing past two Martello Towers, remnants of the Napoleonic-era, onto a majestic clifftop. Follow the North Downs Way, an easily navigable path offering breathtaking views of the Channel. Along the way, marvel at the Battle of Britain Memorial and World War II installations, including a unique sound mirror—an early, radar-replaced form of aircraft detection—and large gun emplacements.

FOOD

A break will be incorporated into the hike for a snack lunch, so remember to pack food and drinks. After the hike, we'll be visiting a local pub where you can purchase refreshments.

COST

The total cost of the trip is £36 per person, inclusive of a guided hike, transport and liability insurance.

PRICE:

  • Members: £29
  • Non-members: £36

We aim to return to London by 9:00pm. Group train tickets are available, ensuring all participants depart from and return to the same station. If you'd prefer to travel separately, kindly procure your individual train ticket.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please note that your place is only reserved once full payment has been made. Failure to do so will result in your reservation not being accepted.

Photos & Video: The hike leader has personally taken all images and footage from previous trips, meaning they're a true reflection of the sights you'll encounter on the hike.

Remember to attach a copy of the payment along with the full names and contact numbers of the participants. You can submit this information through our Facebook page, email us at [email protected], or send a message to 07535295739 on WhatsApp.

WHAT TO BRING

Footwear: The majority of the walk takes place on footpaths and paved paths, therefore, sturdy walking shoes or well-cushioned trainers may be more suitable than walking boots.

  • Water: Carry at least 1 litre, ideally 2.
  • Pack a lunch or picnic.
  • Bring money for drinks and refreshments after the hike.

And that's all! We will manage the train tickets, logistics on the day etc, ensuring you can simply enjoy your day to the fullest.

DOG

Dogs are welcome on this trail, but must be kept on a leash at all times.
