Join Divine Transitions Full Spectrum Doula Care Services on Saturday, April 27, from 7:30 am - 1:00 pm for the Doula Care & Maternal Health 5k Walk for Life sponsored by the Community Alliance of the Far Eastside. This walk will be held at Grassy Creek Regional Park on the far Eastside of Indianapolis. This event is not just a 5k — it's an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of Black birthing persons and their families. By participating, you'll be supporting increased access to maternal healthcare, promoting healthcare equity, and raising awareness about the vital role of doulas in the Black community.
The statistics surrounding maternal health disparities in the United States are alarming. Black pregnant individuals are 3 to 4 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than white individuals. The United States has the highest maternal mortality rate among developed countries, and these rates continue to rise. Your support of the Doula Care & Maternal Health 5k Walk for Life will contribute to addressing these disparities and improving maternal health outcomes.
PLEDGES & DONATIONS
If you are walking with us in the 5K we're holding a special competition. Each participant is encouraged to secure 25 pledges at $25 each prior to the event! If you reach that goal you could win a prize.
To submit pledges, send all donors to our Eventbrite page [doula5k.eventbrite.com] and instruct them to select "pledge" at checkout. A question will appear after they submit payment asking them who they should attribute their donation to. Make sure the donor enters your first and last name so you get credit!
