The United Way of Kaw Valley, Douglas County, and the Senior Resource Center are partnering to present the Douglas County Volunteer Expo on Thursday, September 11, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This year's event will be in Flory Meeting Hall at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. The National Institute on Aging reports that those who volunteer regularly experience reduced stress, lower blood pressure, lower rates of depression and anxiety, and improved cognitive health. Individuals who volunteer even have lower mortality rates! Stop by to learn about and meet with representatives from nonprofit organizations throughout our county and find a good match for your passions and skills!
This event is for people of all ages. Refreshments will be provided by Douglas County.
