About this Event
Douglas County CASA's vision is that all children in Douglas County, Kansas thrive in safe, nurturing, and permanent homes. To do that, we train volunteers to speak up for kids in the Douglas County, KS child welfare system. Court Appointed Special Advocates are volunteers trained and supported by our staff Supervisors to advocate for children who have experienced abuse or neglect and are under the protection of the court. CASA volunteers are appointed by a Judge and meet regularly with the child, review records, and talk to family members and professionals involved in the child's life and case. They help guide these children to safe, permanent homes and stable lives.
If you'd like to learn more about the training and requirements to become a Court Appointed Special Advocate, please join us for this informal lunch gathering to hear from our staff about our organization and the work we do. Lunch will be provided and we'll be sure to keep our presentation to an hour. We appreciate your support and interest in helping the children we serve!
