Calling all double reed players! You’re invited to Double Reed Day on Saturday, Feb. 7, in McCray Hall at Pittsburg State University for enrichment sessions hosted by the Music Department. This free, one-day event is open to oboe and bassoon players of all experience levels — from beginners to professionals. Middle school, high school, and undergraduate students are especially welcome and encouraged to attend.
Sessions begin at noon and include:
• Reed making
• A double reed choir
• A masterclass led by Pitt State Music faculty Colton Sprenkle, John Attebury, and Joanne Britz
The day will conclude with a public recital at 3 p.m., open to all.
