DYD is a county-wide youth dance company offering high quality dance experiences, for young people who have a real passion and enthusiasm for dance and want to take that extra leap in training.
What to expect from class:
DYD Seniors (ages 12-19) can expect to be supported, nurtured & challenged through fun, creative and technical contemporary training to become a more confident performer.
The dancers will experience, where possible, performance opportunities at regional youth dance platforms, work with leading national dance artists and develop their portfolio suitable for today’s performing arts industry.
DYD classes run out of YMCA Dorchester, Sawmills Lane, DT1 2RZ, taking place on Sundays. Term fees are indicated below, DYD can offer a limited number of bursaries to support dancers to attend class.
Term details:
Time: 11am-12:30pm (Seniors)
Dates: Sunday 21st April - Sunday 7th July 2024 (no classes on Sunday 12th May, Sunday 26th May and Sunday 2nd June 2024).
Fee: £75 per term for classes
Fee: £100 per term for invited company members
**Extra DYD Company rehearsals will be held 13.00pm-14.30pm on Sunday 21st April, Sunday 28th April and Sunday 5th May for an upcoming performance at Street in the Park on Saturday 11th May**
Open Class Information & How to book your spot:
This term is a great time to give DYD a go. The full term is open to new dancers, who can try 1 class of DYD for free and see if it's up their street, before committing. DYD can offer a limited number of bursaries to support dancers to attend class. Please email project manager and rehearsal director, Emily, at [email protected] to register your interest and book your space.
All dancers should wear appropriate clothing, that allows ease of movement. Dancers will perform class in bare feet (or socks) and should bring a bottle of water.
