The Dorset Tango Festival November edition at the Weymouth Pavilion
We are happy to announce the November edition of the Dorset Tango Festival which we will be holding again at the beautiful Weymouth Pavilion! We are also delighted to be continuing to work with Luis and Elizabeth from ‘Tango y Nada Mas’.
In addition we have the fab clothes from Kymmes Kreations joining us too!
The unique range of Bohemian Fandango Tango Lengue's (scarves) produced by Leo and Tracey and their Tango paintings will also be on sale.
PROGRAMME
SATURDAY
10.30-11.45am: Workshop 1 with Luis and Elizabeth
A series of ideas to use in the Variacion (the moment of the music when it gets very active, usually towards the end of the Tango) to do justice to the music.
COFFEE BREAK
There is an in house cafe at the Pavilion
12.15 - 1.15pm: Beginners lesson with Tracey
Beginners class suitable for complete Beginners or Followers that want to learn to Lead
12.15 - 1.30pm: Workshop 2 with Leo
This workshop will focus on the biomechanics of the body, improving ochos, body transitions and reactions for the social dance.
LUNCH
2.30-3.45: Workshop 3 with Leo and Tracey
Variations in the Vals. Soltadas, Colgadas, and Volcadas with hooks. The workshop will focus on the highlights of the track which will develop reaction, harmony and balance in difficult movements.
TEA BREAK
There is an in house cafe at the Pavilion
4.00-5.15: Workshop 4 with Luis and Elizabeth
Ideas to use in Vals when the music gets busy and exciting towards the end in order to have the resources to do justice to the music.
BREAK
7.30pm - Midnight Evening Milonga
Performances by both couples during the evening.
Luis and Leo will be your DJs.
SUNDAY
10.30-11.45am: Workshop 5 with Luis and Elizabeth
We can dance Milonga on the beat and smoothly (lisa) or we can use the Milonga rhythm to add spice and variety. This workshop will provide you with some tools for Traspie.
12.00-1.15pm: Workshop 6 with Leo and Tracey
Variations of caminadas / corridas / barridas and change of direction in Tango Salon.This workshop is dedicated to develop tools for navigation on the dance floor.
BREAK
There is an in house cafe / restaurant at the Pavilion
2.00-5.00pm: Afternoon Milonga
