With the help and support of BCP Council Economic Development Team, and part funding support through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, we are proud to launch this event to raise the profile of businesses that have been set up locally by someone linked to the Armed Forces Community. It is a chance to network with like-minded people whilst supporting economic growth, provide business support via mentoring and coaching, and share information about funding/grant opportunities.Who can attend?
Apart from the initial launch event, only people who are interested in setting up / or have previously set up a business in the local area of Dorset that is covered under the Armed Forces Community will be able to attend the network group. Businesses that have signed the Covenant do not qualify to attend unless they are:
a) covered under the Armed Forces Community categories and were set up by a member
b) are sponsoring an event or
c) are invited at the request of the members.
The Armed Forces Community includes:
Serving - RN/RM, RAF, Army
Veteran - RN/RM, RAF, Army
Reservist
Spouse/partner
Families of regular personnel, reservists, and veterans – the immediate family of those within the above categories
Bereaved – the immediate family of service personnel and veterans who have died whether or not that death has any connection with the service.
The launch event will invite local high-profile guests, relevant local businesses, and businesses that have signed the Armed Forces Covenant. It will be part of the Armed Forces Day celebrations across Dorset. All speakers are TBC.
