Ooh! GRAB A DAY PASS FOR EVEN BIGGER BARGAINS!
People often wonder what it might be like to have a doppelgänger somewhere out there in the world - and what it would be like to bump into them. In 2022, in a strange twist of fate, Graeme James and Sonic Delusion, two flat cap wearing, world traveling, multi-instrumentalist live looping indie musicians realised they had somehow ended up in the same town in Taranaki.
After being mistaken for each other one too many times, the musical doppelgängers decided to embrace the inevitable and team up to form world’s first (and only) looping supergroup ’Doppellooper’.
With over 25 years of combined experience as professional musicians, they will be sharing songs and stories from the road in this one off performance. Brilliant musicianship meets improvised chaos in this hilarious and captivating show that features over 15 instruments and two loopers at the top of their game.
Too funky for folk and too folky for funk - that’s Sonic Delusion’s happy, funky & groovy indie pop. In his boogielicious live performances, Sonic Delusion uses his well worn loop pedal with an array of instruments to skillfully layer and create an irresistible sound that is bursting with more funk than folk can handle.
The vibrant Swiss-kiwi, high-energy performer, Sonic Delusion (André Manella) has played over 1000 live shows at venues and festivals across Switzerland, New Zealand, Australia and Germany over the past 10 years.
Graeme James is an internationally acclaimed modern folk artist rooted in the genre’s rich storytelling and musical traditions. His dynamic live shows are performed as a one-man band with the aid of a loop pedal to layer electric violin, guitar, banjo, bass, piano, baritone ukulele, mandolin, accordion, harmonica & percussion. With over 50 million streams on Spotify and features in publications like Indieshuffle and Rolling Stone, his recorded music has journeyed ahead of him as he continues to travel the world and captivate new audiences.
