As part of the citywide Doors Open Milwaukee celebration, the East Side BID is proud to present Doors Open Mural Fest, a weekend-long showcase of the East Side’s incredible outdoor public art. Visitors are invited to explore the neighborhood’s vibrant mural scene, including nine new murals added this year, landmark favorites, and historic buildings.Happening September 27-28, Doors Open Mural Fest will not only give visitors a behind-the-scenes look at select East Side businesses, but also serve as a self-guided celebration of the area’s rich tapestry of murals and public art. This event is free and open to the public.
🖌️ What to Expect:
This year’s Doors Open Mural Fest is packed with nine new murals in and around Black Cat Alley, showcasing some of the most exciting public art in the city. From large-scale works to intimate storytelling through paint, this is your chance to see the East Side’s creative energy in full bloom. Highlights include:
• “Wild Bill” Brewers mural by Brent Schoonover & Hannah Tews
• “The Subtraction of Children” by David Najib Kasir
• …plus brand new murals by ALLDAY PAINTING, Adam Melster, Danny Duffy, Hannah Tews, Cosmic Goat, and more!
Beyond Black Cat Alley, you’ll also find murals woven throughout the neighborhood, including:
• “Veridian Kaleidoscope” ground mural by Alain Poma & Ryan Laessig in Ivanhoe Plaza
• Hunter Kottke Memorial Mural at The Next Bar
• “Leopard” by Stacey Williams-Ng at Kind Oasis
