Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes at Aberdeen Arts Centre? This Doors Open Day, you're invited to step beyond the curtain and discover how productions come together from behind the scenes.From 10am to 4pm, guided tours will run on the hour, offering visitors the chance to stand on our stage, visit the sound and lighting boxes, explore backstage areas, and uncover the rich history of the building and the iconic Children’s Theatre. You’ll get exclusive access to areas the public don’t usually see and meet the team that helps make every show happen.
In the Café Bar, families can enjoy drop-in activities throughout the day. Raid the dressing-up box, get creative at the colouring-in station, and watch screenings of historic film footage that celebrates the centre’s (and Aberdeen’s) vibrant past.
At 11am, join creative learning facilitator Leah Christie for a special 45-minute craft and drama taster session for young people aged 8–15. Places are limited, so advance booking is essential.
