We are again participating in Doors Open California. On Saturday, September 20th, the Gilroy Museum will host “Gilroy's Attic: Forgotten Artifacts Unboxed” from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event offers an opportunity to view the display floor and take a guided tour of the basement storage area. The downstairs tour will include the building’s first usage as a library, new artifacts will be on display, and visitors will learn what goes on behind-the-scenes in community museums. The event is free, but donations are appreciated!Visitors taking the 9/20 museum tour from the display area will need to be able to walk up and down steps. There is no handicap access to the main museum display floor, however, a video of the display area is available on the Gilroy Historical Society YouTube site in both English and Spanish. There is handicap access to the basement tour, down the ramp located at the east side of the museum.
Our event is free, the $20 is at other sites available throughout California.
