Don’t Put Me in a Box is an intimate documentary that follows Cherkaoui across two years and three continents as he blurs borders between traditions, aesthetics, and identities. From Sufi poetry to cyberpunk spectacle, the film reveals how Cherkaoui’s Flemish-Moroccan heritage and artistic curiosity converge in groundbreaking work that defies genre. Offering glimpses of rehearsal processes, sketchbooks, and social media posts, the film is as layered and genre-bending as the artist himself.
