As the modern marching band world continues to advance across the nation, many band programs find themselves working to develop their color guard or visual ensembles. As a band director, this can present a lot of unknowns or obstacles in which we must navigate to help our visual programs be both successful and sustainable. During this session we will discuss how to advocate for your color guard directors and express your appreciation for their contributions made to the band program year-round.
Tykeem will also share his thoughts as to what has helped his programs be successful - specifically offering his insight as to what we as band directors can do to best support the students and staff of the color guard or visual ensembles.
Lastly, we will share ways in which you can create opportunities for your band and guard members to bond and integrate with each other year-round.
