About this Event
A Day of Colour with Siri France
Working with colour is exciting — but it can also feel overwhelming. Where do you begin? This one-day workshop is designed to help you start with confidence.
Spend the day exploring colour mixing through hands-on experimentation and guided exercises. This workshop is suitable for all levels, whether you’re new to colour or want to deepen your understanding.
What we’ll cover
- Creating a colour wheel
- Primary and secondary colours
- Warm and cool colours
- Complementary colours and mixing greys
- Working with a limited palette
You’ll spend most of the day mixing and experimenting, discovering your own colours using only the primary colours, plus black and white. By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a strong grasp of colour mixing — and the ability to mix your favourite colour with ease.
To inspire our work, we’ll look at colour compositions by artists such as Paul Klee, Giorgio Morandi, and others. You’ll also create small colour compositions to explore how colours interact and relate to one another.
What’s included
- All materials
- Morning and afternoon refreshments
Participants are welcome to bring a packed lunch for the short lunch break, or explore the excellent local cafés and shops nearby.
