Donnie Iris, originally a member of the Jaggerz, earned fame with the hit "The Rapper" in 1970. In the late '70s, he teamed up with Mark Avsec to form Donnie Iris and The Cruisers, achieving success with hits like "Ah! Leah!" and "Love Is Like a Rock." Their blend of rock and catchy hooks gained critical acclaim and a devoted following. After decades of touring and recording, including a 25th anniversary celebration in 2004, they released Ellwood City in 2006 and continue to perform, maintaining their status as a beloved rock band.
