This donation based class is to raise awareness about a global community health issue; Period Poverty. Period Poverty affects approximately 500 million women and girls worldwide with an estimated 16.9 million females in the U.S. being affected. Menstrual products are often too expensive or not accessible to many. There is also a lack of education. The consequences of period poverty can include urinary Tracy infections, toxic shock syndrome, absence from school or work, social stigma, anxiety and so on. I will post a list of period kits from Church World Service in the coming days. All items will be given to St. Paul UCC in New Bremen for their mission of the month which is CWS Period Kits.
