Battle Rap Comes to Milton Keynes!
On 21st October the world famous battle rap league ‘Dont Flop’ hold their first Milton Keynes event at the award-winning Bucks Star Brewery venue in Milton Keynes.
A combination of comedy roasting tongue-twisting-rap lyricism and characters who could come from World Wrestling’s heyday battle rap is a truly unique experience. Clocking in over 157 million views and counting Don’t Flop has been a pillar of the battle rap community since 2009. Past events have been everything from packed-out pits in the Ministry of Sound to boutique booths in speakeasy-style music nooks. Post-Covid the battle rap scene is thriving from the return to live performances and is exploring new territory.
Milton Keynes may not be the first place you’d think of in association with UK hip-hop but you’d be surprised. Scratch DJs and vinyl turntablist collective BreakToTheBeat have held hiphop events all over MK - the most recent in MK shopping centre.
