About this Event

Don Akchin's The AfterWork: Finding Fulfilling Alternatives to Retirement, is a refreshing new take on the years of life typically labeled "retirement." It reframes this time as a gift of 25 to 30 post-career years of life, that is not the end of anything but could be the beginning of something new, exciting, and meaningful.

The book gives examples of people approaching or in retirement who have taken a variety of paths to find meaning, and their joys and challenges along the way. Amy Bernstein, author of Wrangling the Doubt Monster: Fighting Fears, Finding Inspiration, will join Don in conversation for an evening in the spirit of reinvention and newness. We hope to see you there!

Books will be available for sale at the event.

Don Akchin has always been a writer – for newspapers, magazines, colleges and universities, and many nonprofit organizations.
