More About Our Nonprofit & Our Arts for PEACE Program:

In 1953, our visionary founder, Robert Tesdell, formed the Association for World Travel Exchange, Inc. (AWTE), a nonprofit organization, and purchased a brownstone at 38 West 88th Street, affectionately known today as The Center. Since our inception, we’ve had a steadfast commitment to bringing people together from across cultures to foster peace and understanding. In 2022, we relaunched our mission under one brand: Cultural Connections. We continue to build on our legacy and focus on the preservation and stewardship of our landmark building where our mission is housed.
