About this Event
The Women's Resource Center will be conducting an in-depth training on domestic violence (DV) and its intersection with substance use, designed for healthcare professionals working in outpatient settings. This session will provide essential knowledge on DV 101, including definitions, dynamics, and the latest data on domestic violence prevalence.
We will explore the complex relationship between substance use and domestic violence, examining how addiction can be both a consequence and a contributing factor to abusive situations. Understanding these connections can help providers deliver more informed and compassionate care.
Additionally, this training will equip participants with the skills to recognize the signs of domestic violence, identify risk factors, and respond appropriately within an outpatient setting. Attendees will learn proactive strategies for screening, supporting patients, and connecting them to critical resources.
By the end of the session, providers will be better prepared to detect, address, and help prevent domestic violence in their practice, ensuring survivors receive the care and support they need.
