About this Event
Join us for a walk and ride to raise awareness for domestic violence in partnership with the Tennessee Coalition to End Domestic and Sexual Violence and Black Girls Do Bike Nashville.
Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women – more than car accidents, muggings, and rapes combined. 1/2 of all homeless women and children in the U.S. are fleeing from domestic violence. Every 9 seconds in the US a woman is assaulted or beaten.
This bike ride and walk are welcoming to people of all ages and skill levels.
The 3 mile Walk takes place on the greenway along the scenic Cumberland River. You may walk at your own pace.
The 7.2 mile Family Ride is completely on the greenway and does not interact with car traffic and can be ridden at your own pace. It is a gentle sloping ride suitable for children and newer bike riders.
The 25 mile Bike Ride will take you through downtown Nashville and Shelby Bottoms Park and back to Ted Rhodes Park. Although most of the ride is on the greenway, there are some segments that take you through the city streets. Riders are expected to follow the rules of the road.
