Domestic Violence Awareness Month Time Square Take Over

Sisters In Purple Inc., a survivor-led nonprofit at the intersection of domestic violence, gun violence, and community violence prevention, invites you to join us in a powerful display of unity and hope.

On Wednesday, October 2nd, 2025, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM, we will TAKING OVER the Red Steps in Times Square(Father Duffy Square, Broadway & W 47th St, New York, NY 10036) to kick off Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

This gathering will honor survivors, remember our Fallen Angels whose lives were tragically taken, and amplify our call for change. The event will include:

· Speeches from survivors sharing their stories of resilience.

· Representatives from organizations across the city united for this cause.

· Government officials (if in attendance) showing their support for stronger protections for survivors.

· Families of victims honoring their loved ones’ legacies.

We ask that all participants wear purple in solidarity, showing a sea of strength, remembrance, and commitment to ending domestic violence.

Your presence—and the presence of your members—will send a powerful message that we stand together to protect, empower, and advocate for those affected by violence.
