Doing Well By Doing Good: Diversity and Inclusivity in Business Success

The session will begin with a presentation about the positive business impacts that result from building diverse teams and implementing inclusive practices. It will then illustrate how to identify when existing policies and practices inhibit the achievement of those goals, and how to avoid those pitfalls. The session will end by discussing how to create alignment between the values of diversity and inclusivity and an organization’s policies and practices. It will include an opportunity for questions and answers, allowing for the discussion of specific issues faced by audience members.

Jacob Brier is the founder and principal of Butterfly Benefits, an organizational engagement and human resources consultancy helping businesses and nonprofits leverage good values to achieve great goals. Jacob earned their MBA in organizational leadership from Johnson & Wales University, and they have professional experience in a range of industries, from food service to healthcare philanthropy, and childcare to operations management. Jacob is a former member of the Barrington Town Council, during which time they were the liaison to the East Bay Chamber of Commerce.
