Are you a local business looking to provide goods and services to Council?
Council will host its 5th annual 'Doing Business with Council Event' on Monday 27 October. This free information session is open to all local businesses interested in the opportunities and expectations of supplying to Wollongong City Council.
This may include (but is not limited to) any business considering submitting quotes or tenders for Council contracts, such as:
- Building and construction
- Consulting and professional services
- Goods and materials supply
- Other services to Council
- Local Government Procurement contracts
The objective of the session is to engage with local businesses in order to:
- Assist with understanding ‘how to do business’ with Wollongong City Council
- Increase awareness of the opportunities presented by Council’s Infrastructure Delivery Program, especially over the next 12 months
- Raise awareness of Wollongong City Council’s procurement framework, including Council’s local content weighting policy
- Increase awareness of state-wide opportunities of doing business across the Local Government sector via Local Government Procurement
The session will include a welcome from Wollongong City Council’s General Manager, Greg Doyle, as well as presentations from Council managers covering topics including Council’s procurement framework (including tenders, formal quotations, panels and prescribed entity contracts) and WHS compliance and pre-qualification.
There will be an opportunity for Q&A during the session. All businesses that register for the event will receive a follow up email with key resources.
